Did you know that God commands us to be glad?As I've been working through Deuteronomy in my daily readings, I've been struck repeatedly by how often God's people were commanded to rejoice.
"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalm 37:4)
And if the saints of the Old Testament had reason to rejoice, then how much more may we on this side of the cross, indwelt by the Spirit, rejoice with all our might before our Lord!!Deuteronomy 12:7
And there you shall eat before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your households, in all that you undertake, in which the Lord your God has blessed you.Deuteronomy 12:12
And you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your sons and your daughters...Deuteronomy 12:18
... And you shall rejoice before the Lord your God in all that you undertake.Deuteronomy 14:26
... And you shall eat there before the Lord your God and rejoice, you and your household.Deuteronomy 16:11
And you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your son and your daughter ... at the place that the Lord your God will choose, to make his name dwell there.Deuteronomy 16:14
You shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter...Deuteronomy 26:11
And you shall rejoice in all the good that the Lord your God has given to you and to your house...Deuteronomy 27:7
and you shall sacrifice peace offerings and shall eat there, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God.
Go and rejoice in your awesome God today!

This is really great Tom. By the way, sweet preaching tonight, very convincing; you believed what you taught and it was very evident.
